less elitist, which is nice, but a lot more bad opinions, which isn't. I've seen multiple unironic pop punk nostalgia threads. There's less flavour of the month album discussions, but there's less album discussions in general. Nobody cares about metal or any kind o hardcore anymore though - that's a godsend. Animal Collective doesn't get brought up so much anymore. Poptimism has been shakily embraced, nobody talks about Joana Newsom, which kinda makes me sad. Loveless was a fad on /mu/ for a while at some point but now it's not too common. There's more waifuposting, which sucks. There's a recent influx of obnoxious dudes from /pol/ who just come here to say kek and nu male. They never talk about music, they just come here to hate on what was formerly a pretty liberal board (it's pretty center-right now)

Basically it still sucks, but it's just bad in different ways. Old people are still around, but you can really see the divide between them and the new people.

Lots of new people came from reddit to 4chan last year, especially /pol/. Naturally, some of them ended up on other boards. There are numerous legitimate criticisms to the album, but a lot of them just hopped on the bandwagon
