I mean, I can't confirm this was 100% what influenced them, but there are definitely similarities in the sound

Nice!
None of the songs ITT are as heavy or have clearly metal riffs like the song Black Sabbath.
>>74528353
We posted entire albums, not songs.
Also i think Blue Cheer is incredibly similar to the early black sabbath sound, which had alot of similar pentatonic scale riffs
>>74528108
Somewhat similar but not exactly identical. Black Sabbath tended to focus far more on creating sinister sounding riffs than other bands at the time. Their music was very much aimed at being the theme song to a horror movie.

The rest of the songs in this album are not nearly as dark as this opener though
>>74528470
Yeah that's a valid point. I'm just addressing the idea that Sabbath ripped off other artists entirely when creating their sound.
>>74528485
I didn't mean to imply they completely ripped off artists, it's more about what influenced them

Fair, have a nice day friend.

>The bass player of this band is called "Oz Osborne"
>The first song in this album is called "Black Sabbath"
I think we can confirm black sabbath was influenced by this
>>74528549
yeah, there's a bit of dram around that, with jinx (the singer) saying she basically inventeed both heavy metal and the devil horns hand gesture
plus her band was fired from the record label and the discs removed from sale a few months before black sabbath got signed
the label probably wanted an edgy band that was a bit less serious about the whole satanism thing
>>74528485
no one said that, black sab is pretty great, but people often think that metal emerged out of nowhere wich isn't true
a lot of bands paved the way before sabbath
like steppenwolf and screamin jay hawkins
Check out Street Singer by Clear Light. It's the earliest heavy metal song from 1967.

The ones worth discussing with probably do.

way too acid-y to sound like sabbath
