okay ill try one last time
it was a male singer
song started with something like this "ooohhhh *heeellloo?* or just oooohhhh
it must have gone something like this "please telll me whyyy [somethiiiing]*whoa whoa whoa? or no no no?*
and small part of the song had like a upbeat theme like near the end or the middle that went something like this but with lyrics so ill replace the lyrics with noises "ohhh ttta ta tumm ta tuuumm deneeee " and a slight higher singing tone by the singer then goes back to "PLEEEASE TELL ME "
im losing my fucking head here please

My Bloody Valentine's Soon is my all-time favorite. It's just... The closest to perfection I've ever heard. I can't articulate why the song is so great to me. I can't articulate how much it means to me, how it got me into the entire genre of shoegaze in a solitary 7 minutes.
It came onto my 90s Alternative station that I used to put on before I went to bed when I was 15. That station introduced me to a few of my favorite bands and a few of my favorite albums (Alice In Chains, RHCP, Garbage, Jane's Addiction, The Offspring, Faith No More, Nirvana, Soundgarden, shit like that), and then out of nowhere comes this 7 minute song called Soon. I decided "Eh, I'll stay up and listen to it." and then the next day I listened to the entirety of Loveless over and over once I got back home from class.
Loveless is my favorite album of all time, and Soon is the cherry on top of it. It just... Makes me happy. I can't explain it, but Soon makes me always feel happy. No matter how much my self-loathing gets to me, no matter how little I feel like I'm worth, it makes me able to forget all of that and feel happy for 7 minutes. Or 14. Or 21. Or however many times I decide to replay it.
And, of course, aside from that, it introduced me to shoegaze as a whole, which got me into Lush, Slowdive, Ride, and Catherine Wheel., which led to my introduction of dream pop, etc. etc. It sparked my desire to expand my music taste with everything I listened to. That was the year I decided to listen to Songs About Fucking, the year I decided to listen to Bucketheadland, the year I decided to listen to Leviathan, the year I decided to listen to Bat Out Of Hell. All because Soon made me realize there's so much more to hear than alternative rock/grunge. If it wasn't for Pandora deciding "hey let's toss an mbv song into this 90s alternative station" I might still be only listening to that station.
That's why it's my favorite song of all time.
