I was told by someone that Plastic Surgery Disasters was the greatest hardcore album ever.
The notion of 'taste' in punk is self-defeating.
For a genre like punk, to say that one can have greater taste that differs meaningfully from anothers is ridiculous at best. This kind of music is devoid from the notion of taste and art altogether, instead opting as anti-art.
Of course, to say that one punk band is greater than another is one thing, but to bitch and whine about someone having 'shit taste' in punk, usually for the idea that this someones taste is 'entry-level' for only caring about the most critically and commercially successful acts, is an idea I see recurring on this site.
TL;DR having 'shit taste' in punk for not caring about the swathe of obscure punk bands is a stupid meme, stop fooling yourself that this meme genre is worth digging deep to find particular acts to your liking as if it were art music.

by "everyone" you mean that one guy who shows up in every punk thread saying "you know nothing" and never lists any of his favorite albums
