Just watch 1:20 of the OP video onwards. Maybe Fripp is a better guitarist, but there's no way he could ever match Belew's energy and charisma on stage. There's a reason he has the main melody line and not Fripp.

idk. i feel like byrne single handedly made the act of playing music live its own art form with stop making sense, something more than just a musical performance. he made him and his band playing music into something beyond a concert film. i reckon you could watch stop making sense with the sound off and still find it highly entertaining, and that's something to marvel at.

i do really enjoy belew's musical performance though, and comparing it to patrick bateman is really funny and fitting.

That's true, Stop Making Sense is amazing. I wouldn't say Byrne is worse than Belew, I just get more energetic from watching Belew perform vs Byrne, who I can sit back and appreciate from an artistic standpoint.
And yeah, I love that performance. Belew certainly likes emulating animal noises with his guitar.

No, but indeed he is very carismatic and energetic at the stage, making his live performances very entretaining to watch. Maybe not my favorite KC vocalist but he made me love the live shows from the 80s King Crimson era.

He deserves more love that's for sure. I bet some people dislike him because of his appearance.

Tony Levin actually is, in my opinion, a strong element in King Crimson's performances from the Discipline-era, maybe he does't have Belew's carisma, but he makes a lot with he's own.
