>The wealthiest generation
>Technologically illiterate, so you'll know they won't pirate your music unlike those pesky millenials
>The generation most likely to buy an overpriced vinyl
>Stuck in their old ways, so no need to invest in risky experimental ventures and talent , just keep feeding them the same old music from their youth days.
>Many from this generation are still willing to fork out a fortune to see aging has-been stars live.
So why aren't the music industry targeting old people anymore, when by every metric, it makes rational sense?

They're also the largest generation
because generally people keep listening to the music they discovered in their late teens and early 20s
it's like you're not gonna target education to boomers who probably aren't interested in it even though they can afford it more easily than the youth

Because they have hearing loss and they don't care about fads.

Define "targeting"

Alot of then are also entering retirement age so they've got all the extra NEET time. Ive recently been seeing a lot of older people at my local Record store. Ive also noticed a few 60 year olds at rock concerts when I was working as a security guard. And in the US, they own 75 percent of the wealth. This is why I'm predicting there's probably going to be a resurgence of older genres in the 2020s. Older people aren't afraid to socialise with younger people anymore. They'll be making their presence felt everywhere in the music scene.
