Bonus question: What do you think of the year so far compared to others by this point? Good? Bad? Average? Loving it personally.
Anyway, can we have one of these please? Haven't seen one in quite a while.
Post your single favorite or post you charts/collages! Really eager to see what others have been getting into and for recs.
It's been pretty underwhelming so far.
A lot of solid albums, but there's not a lot that's come out that feels like the artists best work.

Haven't nearly had the amount of time to listen to everything I have wanted to so far or to organize what I like the most.
>>74498448
I've been personally enjoying this year so far, but I'm not sure if the fact that 2016 was such a shit year has anything to do with it.
>>74498568
Don't get me wrong, there's plenty of albums from this year that I like.
It's just that there are not many albums that I feel like could be in my top-50 in a few years time.
>>74498841
I can understand that feeling. There have only been 2 or 3 that could possibly do it, and one of them is Palm's Shadow Expert, which is an EP anyways.
>>74498880
What's your complete list of albums like that? May as well check them out.
>>74498932
Well Palm-Shadow Expert has probably been my favorite by far this year. Hiss Spin really drew me in as well, but I've only listened to it twice so far, so it might settle a little lower.
Two other ones that I really liked were Amber Coffman's album and Kelly Lee Owens, though the latter could be a bit sparse, but still liked it a lot.

Thanks, I've heard that Kelly Lee Owens album but I'll check the other two out.

If I had to choose one it would definitely be Palm. I've been whoring it around as a suggestion since I listened to it.
so far my top 3 are
>Bardo Pond - Under the Pines
>Slowdive s/t
>Faust - Fresh Air
hoping the new Alvvays makes AOTY tho

Xiu Xiu has probably been the one I've come back to most over the year. I'll have to sit more with Ariel Pink but I've already listened through like 10 times and have really enjoyed it. All of these albums on my list I would rate a 7 or above.

DUDE REMO DRIVE FUCKIN KICKS ASS
Subtext Recordings has had a hell of a year so far.
Admittedly I have not listen to very many releases this year, however this album is my favorite at the moment.
Anybody hyped for any upcoming albums? I don't really keep up with whats coming out. I am looking forward to LCD Soundsystem this year and hopefully John Maus and Death Grips.
Tied with Peasant for me
pretty disappointing year overall desu
