Well i've gone with some really atmospheric sort of post-punk, with reverb, mechanical drum rhythms and wobbley guitars, if there is any sort of musical element you want (specific instrument doing a specific thing) you let me know. if not then i'll just do everything the way i want.

Great, i'm almost finished the track. The idea I have is to record the basic stuff of the song (rhythm guitar, bass, drums), then have the singer decide how they're going to sing it and record their vocals, then the singer sends me the recording with the finished vocal track and lastly i add lead guitar and synths to fill in the space, like in between the verses when there are no vocals.

If anybody is interested in adding vocals, just download it from my soundcloud and record your part. The track is 6 minutes so you have plenty of room to fit the words. After you've recorded the vocals, send me the finished track (and an isolated vocal track if you can, it just helps with mixing, but if you can't then it's fine).

Learn some music theory terms, just very basic ones, and listen to Joy Division. See if you can find where they use things like dissonance, syncopation, tension, etc. then try and mimic that in your own instrumental
