What does /mu/ think of Slipknot?
Iowa is a decent album, but Iowa is a 10/10 song
their debut actually has some cool and hyper-aggressive percussive work and evokes a neat claustrophobic atmosphere.

If you're over 16 yo and still listen Shitknot, please - kill yourself

I was into them as a teenager, then I thought it was all edgelord shit, then I realised the first two albums are actually good.

I actually hated them as an early teen. later on, I actually properly heard some of their songs and after I found out that the lead singer could actually sing, I liked them
I don't give a shit if people say they make edgy and tryhard music, I think that they have a lot of soul in their songs

Anger and angst are valid emotions. Edgy, by definition, is a hollow marketing tactic to exploit raw emotion from the audience and drain the vibrancy and money out of youth culture. Groups like Slipknot and System of a Down weren't edgy, they meant what they were saying. Its the bandwagoning posers and mall goths who were edgy.
I liked them mostly because of the nigga with the sampler and the turntable. (don't know if they were the same person but I think he/them added a lot)

I think he goes by DJ Starscream or something of the sort as a soloist.
