Technical Death Metal is becoming the modern equivalent of classical music.
Bands like First Fragment, Spawn of possession(rip), and Obscura have all taken pieces/modes/styles/techniques of classical music and expanded off them like no other genre could pull off(Or that I have yet to see anyways).
If you don't like Death Metal but appreciate instrumental proficiency please give some of these a try and I bet you will be consumed into the genre.
If you aren't new to the genre, post which Tech Death metal bands you've been listening to recently. Im looking to expand as much as possible into the deepest depths of the genre.
I'll also be fine with Melodic death metal.
Starting us off with something for the Musical Normies. First Fragment is a heavy band, with probably the most classical influence out of any other tdm bands out there. BUT, this is an instrumental of theirs, so there's no vocals. Give it a try.
First Fragment - L'entite

Next get into something more progressive, less "face-fuckingly brutal", but it's an adventure just listening to it.
Virvum - Illuminance

Okay, full "face-fuckingly brutal" on this next one. Archspires vocalist gets A LOT of his influence from Tech n9ne. Was supposed to see them live in Calgary with Psycroptic but a storm came rolling around the same day and made it dangerous to travel to Calgary. Rip.
Archspire - Remote Tumour Seeker

If you like The Black Dahlia Murder, this is like them on steroids and on a diet of the spiciest potato chips in the world. Only complaint about them is that they kind of lose melody as the album progresses.
Alterbeast - Flesh Bound Text

These next guys have grown to be one of my favorites as of recently, Inferi. They know how to groove.
Inferi - Within The Dead Horizon

Another easy listening one for people not so familiar with the genre. Obscura has such a unique sound, while still staying true to melody and technicality.
Obscura - Akroasis

True technicality at its best. But the guys in the band are pretty unreliable. It's raw, and oldschool.
Necrophagist - Epitaph

Anyways that's all unless anyone has been lurking. Enjoy your day ya dorks.
