Latest live sets of Autechre are more musique concrète-electroacoustic oriented than ever, if you don't recognize it clearly you don't even know what we're talking about here.
>>74473852
lol keep trying to put them on a pedestal, they just make techno
>>74473882
lol
Ok anon.
AOTY
>>74474346
>lol
>Ok anon.
He's not wrong.
Autechre is sometimes-experimental techno, nothing musique concrete or electroacoustic about them.
>>74473618
it still stinks desu
>>74474383
Listen to that live set please.
Anyway you're wrong, in their later career Autechre have increasingly absorbed a lot of influence from those criteria, they also often cited Parmegiani and Xenakis as main influences on their music.
How can you not recognize the obviously musique concrete influence from a piece like this for example? I think all of you should get more in depth.

They say themselves they just make dance music.
And dance music is not inferior to electroacoustic and musique concrète but they don't make it
>>74474365
Any other good release for 2017?

>How can you not recognize the obviously musique concrete influence from a piece like this for example? I think all of you should get more in depth.
Because it's not there, the better question is why you delude yourself into perceiving this imaginary depth?
>>74474365
where can i get this?
is this musique concrete ?
if it is definitely best i've ever listened to

>still not listening to that live set
I am a student of electronic and electroacoustic music, I understand well what I hear because I studied it and I also make it as a musician.
That intro and that continuos pitch/timbre shifting of that obviously pre-existent bouncing sound in the whole track is a typical manipulation of the musique concrète criteria. I haven't said it's "musique concrète", but it's obviously influenced, it's not that hard.

It seems that you're more likely to reduce Autechre because you just don't like them.
>>74475105
nah, i'd say avant-prog

I bet you take "intelligent" dance music literally too you pathetic tool
>>74475452
>It seems that you're more likely to reduce Autechre because you just don't like them.
How did you come to this conclusion? I'm a huge Autechre fan, I just don't pretend there's anything musique concrete or electroacoustic about them.
Nice to see a musique concrete thread?

No, I haven't. Any albums you recommend?
>>74476897
try we devote every effort... and this is nmperign's 2nd cd
>>74473263
Best stuff is usually GRM-affiliated. EAI is totally different.
>>74473319
Electroacoustic music is technically any electronic sound production in composition. It's often associated with musique concrete, because that's how it began, but nowadays, even stuff like STGSTV is electroacoustic. EAI is way different though.
>>74475487
They touch on it occasionally, i.e. parts of Confield.
It doesn't really make sense to pretend there's some fixed hierarchy of "art" versus "popular" music here. The biggest difference in this context is that "art" music usually avoids a regular rhythm. It's not fundamentally different from a lot of glitch, etc.
>>74477640
There's not really a solid definition for any of these things. Even if there's some sort of platonic ideal form of "musique concrete" (i.e. recordings of various sounds manipulated to the point of being unrecognizable and then assembled into a composition), in practice composers rarely stuck to it.
thoughts on this?
>>74477738
>in practice composers rarely stuck to it
only plebs don't stuck to it
