Plz, can we stop espousing the meme that all or even most folk is good? It can be some of the most incredible music you're ever likely to hear at it's best, but most of it is blase cookie cutter music based on compositions and musical ideas being done the same/better by other folk musicians. It's grand and sometimes mind blowing if you're going out to get drunk at your local trad music festival, but talking about it in the same context as classical music is just silly.
