Fantano is even worse than P4k nowadays at being blinded by their own box of emotions and what they thinks an album "needs", rather than just surrendering to the vibe and being open emotionally to whatever that artist is going for, and then making you're mind up when you actually take in more emotion. You can definetly tell as well with how formal and non-emotive his reviews are at points that he is truly disconnected from the passion that the truest "music nerds" have

Fantano: Has an obsession with memerap and P4k indie which he shills for relentlessly

Scaruffi: Has a perverse hateboner for some artists (Beatles, Elvis, Bowie, etc). Is addicted to buttmetal. Will almost never give an album higher than a 7/10 because he wants you to believe there's no album out there too weird for him.

Christgau: Words his reviews as densely and impenetrably as possible because it's very important that the reader knows he's smart and literate, but in the end he just likes Afropop and stripped-down punk rock made by (secretly) smart, self-aware people.
