This, this album I believe is very good. I think his tone has become deluded with his latest releases, only rarely deviating from a familiar and somewhat forgettable tone except for a select few of singles which I think often represent a tone of his that is different, harder, more pop qualities, lack of depth. These tent-pole songs (I believe) pivot people away from some of the tracks on an album like this, Take Care. Its really the only album of his I really enjoy for the artistry. Though he does have a lot of tracks that I love to get fucked up to.

fuck the other guy, I can get with this. I'd raise Take Care to great tier, maybe, and definitely move views to OK and lower some of his early stuff into bad.

For me I've always felt like If You're Reading This is a head above the rest of his work. It only has one song that I skip if I'm not in the mood for it (10 Bands), and the production is incredible barring his vocals being mixed too high, and that's easily fixed with a bassy EQ.

All the points on this album where the instrumentals get to breathe are incredible, and I think it has his most consistent lyrics quality-wise, even if there's a bit too much street Drake. Songs like Star67 actually have interesting subject matter (working a phone scam line for cash) and it's probably also arguably his most well written and produced song.

He built up so much momentum for his entire career and then views dropped and it was the worst thing he ever put out. He popularized stupid dance hall music that's actually killing pop music right now. Shit used to be fun and energetic and now he's encouraged all the other mainstream artists that being sad over a dance hall beat is cool and introspective when really it's all just generic garbage.
