Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavillion: This one is debatable, but I really enjoy the warm, summer vibe it has. It sounds like if you took Pet Sounds by the Beach Boys and mashed it with Homogenic by Bjork. The result would be this album.

Debris Of Titan was an awesome choice , hard to say what they remind me of but i like how they don't give that throw back vibe.

Many bands just reproduce what already came out. This band breaks from that trend.

Pond is cool but they remind me of Tame with their newer stuff now.

Flying Lotus came out with a dope record back in 2015.

Thee Oh Sees. They're more garage and surfer rock than psych, but there's definitely some influence. Check out A Weird Exits, it came out last year and it's fantastic IMO

IMO "psychedelic" is an inappropriate genre term for repetitive rock with tons of modulation pedals. "Psychedelic" is a descriptor, and there's loads of electronic music that replicates the psychedelic experience much more closely than any strum-a-strum-strum + chorus pedal band could ever do.

this. rock hasn't been the premier medium for psychedelic music since the '60s. to get a taste of interesting modern directions in psych, broadly defined, check out Progenie Terrestre Pura and Oranssi Pazuzu for metal, Luigi Tozzi, Post Scriptum, Donato Dozzy for techno, HTRK and Tropic of Cancer for minimal ambient pop stuff, and honestly stuff like young thug for hip hop
