Crypro fascism implication meme about
Ian Curtis of Joy Division

Reading his widow book. Info just came across.
>>
Ian lied to his local Liberal candidate saying that he'd vote for him so that he'd drop him off at the polling booths, and then he voted Tory
What a madman
>>
Why would a working class lad from Manchester vote for a neoliberal cunt like Thatcher?
>>
>>74445488
Because it was better than the alternative

always has been

still is
>>
>>74445569
I can understand this, but Ian was seemingly genuinely really Conservative, not just begrudgingly doing so to stop Labour. I can't quite understand how someone who used to walk around in a jacket with "HATE" on the back of it and rolled about in broken glass on stage could also be a Thatcherite, but I guess that's one of the many things that make Ian an interesting character.
>>
>>74445488
Maybe he just understood economics.
>>
>>74445488
He didn't like Asians a whole lot
>>
>>74445569

Lots of people were conservative back then, which is duh, why the conservatives got in. Labour and the liberals just seemed shambolic. Sure some people hated her from the start but a majority didn't until later.
>>
>>74446095
Wow things do change dont they
>>
>>74446105
Yeah, now the Tories looks shambolic as well
>>
>>74446095
Go watch the new statesman, you're slow for the party bro.
>>
>>74446111
>new statesman
You mean the political satire show that debuted after she had been in power for 8 years? Like I said the majority of the hate came later. And no I am not a tory.
>>
>>74446208
Nah, the political satire that helped defeat the sociopathic Tories. You wouldn't know because you weren't there. The hate was there from the beginning, and you know nothing about the music back then too if you don't know how much Thatcher was hated musically speaking.
>>
>>74446273
Spitting Image had far more negative influence on the tories than New Statesman. That show is very basic satire, people getting hit in the nuts and falling out of windows, typical of Mayall. The hate for Maggie developed through her policies. She was seen as a breath of fresh air mostly at the start, sweeping away much of the crusty old tory image with advertising executive art. Sounds like you are the one who doesn't know basic history or how they got in to power in the first place.

at the time people didn't know how evil that whore was
>>
>>74445615
Poor people love privatization and loss of entitlements, it's true
>>
>>74445488
Same reason David Lynch voted for Ronald Reagan in 1980 (and was a berniebro by 2016)
>>
>>74446739
You mean actual politics? Not that american cartoon show you are used to.
>>
>>74446773
Privatization is the best thing ever for poor people if they want actually functioning public services.

if they are privatized those services are not public anymore...
>>
He was an intelligent man. Only stupid people were not voting for Thatcher.

>>74446773
They actually do, they just don't know it. Privatizations are beneficial to everybody.
