And then you have Homme kind of talking to himself as Jesse does at times in EoDM songs. Again, this isn't bad, but just kind of fun to point out and make comparisons.

I welcome the new album (TEHL studio version is amazing) but the Oliveri days are still missed. Tension Head, Millionaire, all those Oliveri songs were defining songs on those two albums. Some of QOTSA's best.

I think I'm in the minority, but I love Six Shooter. Those deliberately silly guitar licks giggling in the background to Oliveri's screams and Dave's intense drumming. My dick gets hard even though some may say it breaks the flow of the album. Fuck that. It ramps the album up from a 6 with The Sky Is Fallin' to an 11 with itself. The album then recollects itself with Allain Johannes diddling my tight little buns on the theremin with Hanging Tree. Hearing Six Shooter before that just makes Hanging Tree that much better to me.
