My dad used to play his music all the time when I was younger and he would tell me about concerts he went to and one time he had to sleep on a park bench in Paris to see him live. When I was quite young his music gave me nightmares but when I was about 14 and I was getting into music I began to listen to Tom Waits and I started bonding with my Dad over it. So yeah, he's probably one of my favourite artists.
Swordfishtrombones and Bone Machine are among the greatest album of all time, and a number of others are really high up there as well...the only flaw you could say about him is that having such a large discography means it's full of weaker material too...and also, his career would have done just as well to have ended on Bone Machine but since hipsters only latched on to him in recent decades, his later stuff gets overly praised in comparison to his proper classics
i love tommy boy

Ha, just kidding.
my girlfriend loves Tom Waits!!
He's great in movies and his music is better. He's fucking Tom Waits, man.
Also, I'm gonna toss in my piece for Rain Dogs as his best, probably, although I do dig a lot of his later, weirder stuff.
Fuck, man, now I need to listen to Orphans again
>>74442285

>>74442182
The voice of Cookie Monster.
>>74446573
Innocent When You Dream, rather
Alice, Rain Dogs and Mule Variations are some of my favourite records of all time.
Truly one of a kind artist. Just wish he'd hurry up with a new project, been like 7 years and no news at all
>>74446573
similar, sure, but not worse at all. i love coney island baby. is that the only one you dont like on the record?
Rain Dogs and Frank's Wild Years are his best albums
The man has never released a bad album though, any album you don't like gets better with every listen.
