Other than the obvious few artists that are innovating, popular rap is a disgraceful race to the bottom. We need another Kendrick/Kanye/Eminem or it will die just like rock did after its final gasp for breath in the 90's.

What do you suggest? I'm only mentioning those names because most people agree that they reinvigorated the medium. We need more Gucci Mane/Rick Ross/Wiz Khalifa? What do you want? I personally wouldn't mind if rap died and made way for a new genre, except that genre would probably suck even more than what we already have.
