The Peter Green band was fine. White English hippies play derivative blues licks band #462. The Buckingham band made some of the best pop music of all time. There is no comparison you tryhards.

Replying to a thread 2 days ago now archives about Fleetwood Mac which was pretty short-lived..
As much as I enjoy all incarnations of Fleetwood Mac , I don't understand the 'white blues musician' references as some putdown. The blues was made by both whites and blacks.. and virtually on all European instruments, as well as using Greek scales and tuning methods, intonation, even modes later on in Jazz at least. A lot of the blues come from Ireland. Hell even rap really has its roots in France if you learn your history.

Furthermore, yeah, they covered older Blues standards/songs but they also wrote their own pop songs WITH Peter Green/Danny Kirwan such as Rattlesnake Shake, Oh Well 1 and 2, Albatross, Man of the World, Although the Sun is Shining. Just to name a few..
