ITT: Why do you hate Dave Matthews Band
1. Their fans are either hippies or yuppies no inbetween
2. He sounds like Stitch from Lilo and Stich
3. Their music is like being in a coma and you're aware of it but you can't do anything about it

I never understood hating a band because of their fan base.

he's a drunk junkie twat who write cringy music and pushes himself on inebriated women. Excellent drummer. Absolutely shit-awful music and brain-damaged fanbase

It's about perspective I guess.
Certain people are affected by their experience of the caricaturized aspects of the type of person that would listen to a band or artist and exaggerate it sometimes, sometimes it's the real deal.
Like, picture in your mind, the average Jimmy Buffett fan, average Deadhead, average Juggalo, average Mac DeMarco fan and think about the characteristics.
I don't know where I'm going with this but do you at least understand?

I understand that you can easily stereotype a band's fans, and that those stereotypes can be negative, but how that affects how you listen to the music is beyond me.

I'll admit, quite a few of his songs have pretty cringy lyrics. While there are plenty of songs that have really cool lyrics, this is probably my own biggest gripe. However, luckily, when listening to live songs(which is the only good way to listen to DMB) singing is a small portion of those songs. The rest is filled with jams from an extremely talented band. They have one of the best drummers in the world, an amazing brass section, amazing sax player, and Dave himself is a spectacular rhythm guitar player

also side note: Not all songs need to have super well written lyrics to be good, especially with the aforementioned musical talent behind it
