Ok no hate /mu/ , but can someone explain me what is prog rock all about since I don't listen to it.I mean what are the characteristics of prog rock.
I can hear a song or a band and say "well this song/band is prog" , but I don't know what makes it that way. What is the difference between classic rock and prog for example?

>often has more varied instrumentation than classic rock and incorporates other styles of music
>has emphasis on extended instrumental sections, sometimes virtuosic in their approach
