I was obsessed with this when it leaked. Not that it has lost its charm, but I've taken a bit of a breather from it. I find it impossible to listen to just one song. Easily a top 10 contender.
2017 has been trash

Please cite the "only" good releases this year. I strongly suspect your tastes are just under-developed.
>>74401229
Agreed top one for me

Get bent, plebs.
Pure Comedy.

Are you trying to be a post-ironic tryhard? Monkey see / monkey do?
>>74404706
that album sucks by the way
this is mine
This
So nice
>>74401905
I'm currently obsessed with it at the moment too. Every song is irresistible which hasn't been true for some of the other albums I've listened too. It's addicting as fuck.
>>74402190
Maybe. But there's been plenty of good stuff if you know where to look.
>>74403660
>>74403978
Love these.
>>74404706
This album, much like FJM's, other work, is un-listenable.
YOU NEED A COOOLD BLOODED MAAAN
>>74402870
This too, my fellow /slow/bro.
>>74402870
Where can I find this?

They played pretty much all the songs live so I'm certain about this
It's not my #1 but it's definitely up there.
Not alot of good stuff in this thread

>>74402258
>>74403978
I really didn't see anything standout about these albums, they were all pretty mediocre in my opinion. What am I missing?
>>74402957
I've bever been a King Gizzard fan but I really really disliked this album. I thought Microtonal Banana was actually pretty good.
>>74404706
As someone who loves ILYHB, no.
>>74405598
I didn't like anything except for the singles.
ambient
future jazz
bboy
soul
breaks
haven't heard much buzz about this but it's up there imo
>>74406866
my vote goes here

>grime
2011 > 2017 > 2015 > 2011 > 2016 > 2014 > 2010 > 2012 > 2013
This is a great year for the moment. A lot of trash but a lot of great albums. Forgot to add Kelly Lee Owens, Ariel Pink and The Ruins of Beverast)
>>74402957
Good choice 2nd best after Nonagon
>>74403978
My personal choice, best come back album of the year atleast
>>74406866
this is my number two
Sun Kil Moon and Fleet Foxes albums are fantastic as well
>>74407028
fuck off ya cunt
I'm leaning towards peasant for my aoty, but I did like the fleet foxes and avey tare releases
>>74405619
I haven't liked anything by them after boxer, is this worth checking out for me?
>>74405516
I love the concept but have to bring myself to listen to this
>>74403978
not a bad pick, but this album just didn't do it for me, it's no souvlaki
>>74402957
microtonal banana was great, this wasn't. King Gizzard has always been a mixed bag for me, so I'm still happy with their album output this year.
>>74402870
good pick

Took my first choice, so here's my runner up
Those who have the leak would agree
>>74410173
>>74410239
In my top 5 so far for sure.
Runner-up: Hoops - Routines
This album fucking rips and I did not expect it at all
They're great live too
>>74405637
Feels too unfinished. Oblivion Access was better imo
>>74403978
Hot opinion: Slowdive have always been far less original than people give them credit for and this album is no exception. It's slowly growing on me but still not sure it lived up to the hype, I feel like a lot of these songs (Star Roving) are great but could have been written by like any nu-gaze band from the past decade
I'm seeing them in November though so maybe my opinion will change
>>74403660
>>74405584
Hell yeah
Listened to this today and already I love it. I was so hyped for 2016 and so lukewarm for 2017 going in but I honestly have a hard time putting together 5 albums I loved from last year while it feels like everything coming out this year has been wonderful
>>74405619
I haven't followed this but I loved the first single from it. Doesn't sound anything like The National but in a great way.
>>74410384
actually while i agree that live they're amazing, i was INCREDIBLY underwhelmed by that album.
live they were super noisy and brash, but on the production on the album was a bit thin, i was really expecting that density i heard live to come off. the record felt kind of quiet man.
>>74410525
I definitely get that. The first thing I noticed when I saw them live was the lead guitar on JJ. On the record it's much more of a thin Joy Division-worship type sound but live it's much noisier and angrier sounding. I like them both but I can see how it would be disappointing
Have you listened to their other stuff? I have yet to listen to Bodies and Control and Money and Power but I've heard it's a lot noisier
You know I'm right.
>>74410963
I genuinely forgot I had even listened to this album until just now
It's not bad but that's the best thing I can say about it
I know it's probably the least chance of being an aoty but hey...
does anybody have her discog?
