Do people actually like it or is it just a meme?
I mean, some of their songs are ok, but it mostly incoherent sounds
I think it's pretty good. Then again, I like incoherent sounds.

thing can be enjoyed unironically and still be a meme.

Could you tell me what your fav's are from them?
Noise, free jazz, soundtracks, stuff that seems incoherent or bad seems so because you have to focus on it pretty intensively to understand it. This stuff is popular on 4chan because everyone here has autism and these types of music need autism to be enjoyable. Everyone I've ever met in person who liked free jazz had autism, including myself.

Easy to meme thanks to Fantano and the outrageous lyrics and whatnot, but I legitimately love them. Not a single bad record for me, although I'm not fond of Government Plates or Jenny Death.
Basically, if you have a taste for modern experimental hip-hop artists like Danny Brown, Shabazz Palaces, clipping., etc., you most likely like Death Grips too. Easy to tell why people wouldn't like them though. Abstract lyricism, mixing electronic with punk, being a meme, the list goes on.
They're alright. It's bombastic and noisy, but I wouldn't say incoherent. TMS was pretty poppy iirc. I need to listen to their newer shit.

Bottomless Pit has some pretty poppy songs

Exmilitary is fun
The Money Store is accessible
No Love Deep Web is angry and minimal
Government Plates is their best
Notm is their magnum opus
Jenny Death is pretty good (turned off is their best song imo)
Bottomless Pit is the Money Store but messier, still great
Their instrumental albums/eps are great and worth a listen, especially Steroids
Their rarities are kind of ass, except for the face melter

this is how I got into them
for the longest time i'd only listened to TMS & i liked maybe half of the songs and thought "these guys are alright, don't see what the big deal is but they've got some jams"
then i finally listened to Exmilitary and holy /shit/ it is a far more immediate & engaging album; it helps that i'm into slightly aggressive electronic music as a thing but stuff like Culture Shock really doesn't strike me as being that hard to get into
