I dunno that's always been a little too Inspector Gadget Dr Claw. I hear a pretty important difference in Pil and death metal and also a much more direct link.

I actually think Yoko Ono might qualify almost a decade before Pil and the last song on this album is strikingly similar to her at moments.

except there is no actual link. he kind of does a growl at some points on that record. but there is no link to death metal. i promise you none of the first death metal bands ever listened to PiL. the first blastbeats are on a Coltrane record but i know for a fact Mick Harris did not get that from there.
