I think I have the chops down its just the arranging really. Does this look right for timing? I've just adjusted the snap to 64'ths and started moving a few drums about, sounds ok.

I've got all the breaks just not much idea of jungle techniques. I've been producing for 10-15 years or so but could never get my head round jungle breaks.

I'm using the amen as that break is so familiar from all the old jungle.
So basically just trying to get my head round it. >set the tempo to 160bpm

as for fx you can really do whatever you want, overdriving, bitcrushing, and compressing breaks can give a dirtier sound if you are purely digital

They used to have these challenges for everybody to create a track using a limited sample pack somebody put together, and a synth or two, which seemed really fun, but ai wasn't good enough last time I know of it happening. I wonder if they've been doing that in the time I've been out of the loop.

I'm using Maschine, but its all pretty similar I'd imagine. I've basically got options to do it manually, automatically by detecting the transients and to grid so 8th 16th etc. (pic related)

This one is cooler, and I actually like it. The drums aren't as manic as I want from breakcore, but I understood halfway through the first track that this isn't breakcore. The synths have a unique feel to them, and the drum tones themselves have audibly had some work put into them. He really likes dropping everything but the bass out for a few bars and then continuing.

This one is cooler, and I actually like it. The drums aren't as manic as I want from breakcore, but I understood halfway through the first track that this isn't breakcore. The synths have a unique feel to them, and the drum tones themselves have audibly had some work put into them. He really likes dropping everything but the bass out for a few bars and then continuing.
