Hello bassists of mu. I was wondering if any of you know of any good books that helped you learn. I would like a book that doesnt have tablature, and also no basic blues stuff. I want to start playing more jazz and therefore i would also like a book that has everything i would need to know about scales, modes, and key changes. Also maybe a book for guitar/piano that just has chord charts to practice improv. Any information on what books are good and what aren't would be helpful.

Don't know about electric, but if you make the jump to upright check out The Contemporary Contrabass by Bertram Turetsky.
