what do wagecucks mean by this when they see you make money from your music?
yo man, I've been doing music for ages but have found little exposure and have no idea how to get it to that level. What's the trick to getting out there?
>making money from music
This is possible?

Sure, if you're willing to be a fake person or if you have achieved success decades ago.
>>74360737
you just have to make good music and be yourself

>10k GBP over 5 years
You'd be better off on the dole m8

i make 35k a yr bagging groceries
how much do you think the greatest artist of our time makes?
I'd say probably 200-300k a year max

I don't know who that is, but if you're any kind of a self respecting musician, you're not making money in 2017. if you're just starting.
>>74360938
fuuuuuuuuck no, i would be surprised if lopatin breaks 100k / yr
making cash in music is way, way, WAY harder than people think it is. not impossible, but hard
>>74360938
he makes 55k a yr

It means that they're jealous that you get to make money doing something that you want.
It's the case with all artists, wagecucks loathe artists because they don't see them as really working, but being an artist often entails having to spend money or time in labor on a project.
A good way to shut them down would be to tell them to stop listening to music, watching movies, reading signs and billboards and adverstisements, and buying paintings or going to art galleries or anything considered cultural.

Make good music and make connections. Go to shows and get plugged into your local music scene. This can obviously only be accomplished by living in or around a big city. Play with different bands and befriend as many local artists as you can. It's like a web, you have to support each other in order to climb up.
>make music on my own, play all the instruments
>know I need to actually play live I get noticed

Book a gig, hire a band, pay them 10% of net or whatever the day rate for the local musicians union is in your area.

Both of these posts are my problems, I make good music, even know a few critics and have sent some of my stuff to them, but I haven't played live in forever and to do it I'd have to contract out for a drummer and travel out of state for a gig, and I don't currently know anyone willing to do that.
