I genuinely think 2000s high schoolers had a way better time than 2010s high schoolers. I graduated in 2014 and I don't feel like much of anything entertaining was going on culturally. The zeitgeist had shifted roughly in the direction of social media posturing and buying up a bunch of twee Cartoon Network merchandise while spouting memes. I saw kids browsing /b/ in the computer lab like it was nothing.
