What pieces pf his have you listened to?
Does anyone know of any theoretical analyses of Debussy? I'm interested to know how people tackle his music.

The ones on that meme album by Weissenberg, Estampes, Suite Bergamasque, Children's Corner, I think an etude and a prelude but I can't remember them. In fact I can't remember much of what I heard at all. I have a hard enough time with Romantic music without Impressionism getting thrown in.

try this piece, I think it rivals Mozart in terms of delicacy

What was Mr. Debussy's big aversion to playing chords as if they were chords?

"There is no theory. You have only to listen. Pleasure is the law. I love music passionately. And because l love it, I try to free it from barren traditions that stifle it. It is a free art gushing forth — an open-air art, boundless as the elements, the wind, the sky, the sea. It must never be shut in and become an academic art."
“Works of art make rules; rules do not make works of art.”

I only know him because my father plays his piano piece all the time, like it's the only piece he still can play or something, so it's kinda stuck in my head.
