Why is this always an argument when it comes to influential females? Because I always feel its stupid.
Greatness always finds a way. Especially in the modern age. Just because the "establishment" tries to stifle something (which it has done to male artists at different times) doesn't mean it is nor can be stopped entirely, and its most often the case (if the art is really great) that it won't be.
