under appreciated albums in an artist's discography go
My favorite of theirs honestly.

Yeah, because there isn't a bunch of horseshit samples. The music plays for itself. Asunder too
>>74337066
I like Yanqui but the samples are what make their first two albums better
melon has the wrong opinion
>inb4 muh kid a leftovers
Unfortunately overshadowed by Diary.

m8 you should really stop giving a shit about what everyone else has to say. anticipating responses is a pretty spineless thing to do. if people don't want to engage constructively, then fuck 'em.

I feel like anyone why says Amnesiac is just Kid A leftovers didn't actually listen to the album. Amnesiac might feel like a sequel, but it's in the sense of having its own mood that feels tangentially related to Kid A, almost like it's the same place but after whatever that album was afraid of has come and gone. To me it's a much starker, drearier record. There's also how it draws from the same pool of influences but with a different proportion - Kid A seems more IDM informed to me while Amnesiac has a slightly stronger krautrock and jazz influence to it. I don't really see them as uninspired leftovers at all.
Only marginally lesser to Pornography, yet it hardly gets even 1/10 of the recognition. Faith is when the band truly found their voice.

i might be biased because i'm a stan but i feel like you could basically post any phil album that's not the glow or mount eerie (and maybe a crow looked at me idk how much it gets talked about here) and it would be true. but, yeah, his voice harmonizing with julie doiron is heavenly.

Facts.

I agree, he has so many great albums that are overlooked, I just picked the one that I first saw.
nobody ever talks about it

lodger is fucking dope
15 albums into a career as storied as Sonic Youth's, far be it from them to make the last thing anyone would ever expect them to make - a set of straightforward tunes. This album is proof that Sonic Youth could actually write honest songs if they tried.
And any album that isn't Fragile or Close to the edge.

Whole heartedly agree.
testament with Dave Lombardo behind the kit.
>>74338038

These too
>>74337167
100% this
Slave is their best song yet imo
>>74337167
Really? I thought it was incredibly boring, even more so than green.
Girls was so short lived, but this EP in between their two albums is probably their best work.
>>74338015
their best album
>>74338387
makes me sad to think about those solo albums...
If you're like me and only like Filth when it comes to Swans' no-wave stuff, you must check this EP out.

>only likes filth
>not even Cop
c'mon m8
but that ep is amazing, got it on vinyl on RSD
>>74338784
Filth has some mean and hard ass grooves, I really don't like the more stiff and repetitive sound of Cop, I do like Children of God but I don't know if that's considered no-wave
>>74337107
Who gives a fuck about melon, that's one of my favorite albums.
You would think that since this was released this year that it would be shit but it's actually pretty good. It has a lot of energy and the spoken word is cool.
