What if it brings you joy? Unless you consider joy to be useless
Yeah, pretty much. I still buy vinyls of my favorite albums though

I always thought that guy was asian
they were posh in quirkier, campier times.
some say casettes replaced them
dont believe they are investments, they are not expected to rise in value

No, but I don't think obtaining happiness through material items is a very healthy thing

Is there any particular reason? Is it for the sentiment? Why not just listen to them digitally?
I buy some vinyl, but not for the music, for the physical album itself, sometimes the art, package etc is pretty outstanding. I only do this with albums I like to listen to though.
i am pretty old so grew up with vinyl and that is probably a big part of it.

That's really nice. Giving a record collection with sentimental value to my kids doesn't sound so bad

>(ew...dadrock >_<)
It's worth it for the albums which were released before the noise wars since you get more or less more detail from those masters. Googling will help you.

all materialism is needless materialism
(except for historical materialism)
I just enjoy something rustic. I like the idea of having vinyl for when I just want to relax in my chair and listen to tunes. I also enjoy collecting colour vinyls.
In the end it's other peoples money so, who cares.
They're fun to collect with the massive cover art
I'm sure in a lot of cases it is just needless materialism. If you like records than do you by all means, but it does just come off as pretentious more often than not
