No love for Kendrick? I usually find that Kanye fans are also Kendrick fans and vice versa.

>Hip Hop General
>has recovery in his top 25
Is recovery even Hip hop? I know it's mainly a rap thread, but Recovery has like maybe 3 hip hop tracks, and they're eminem style hip hop, so they just barely boarder the line.
Not shitting on it, punchlines for days.
>Tfw Eyedea is dead
I still feel bad about this

What do you guys think about this song?
>>74333196
you heard any bones? give NoRedeemingQualities a go
Do people not like ATCQ here or something?
>>74336738
Was just about to say that anon. Where the fuck is the love for tribe ?
I fucking miss him.
Most of the people on rotation are brain dead niggers, and Kendrick has his head too far up his own ass to be likeable.

HAHAHAHAHA
I know my taste is pretty reddit, but can someone here tell me just how reddit it is?
1. Royce
2. Kendrick
3. DOOM
4. Danny Brown
5. Earl Sweatshirt
I also like Injury Reserve if that makes things a little more underground.
>>74337513
Not bad. I know kendrick is pretty reddit but honestly I think he deserves a top 5 objectively skill wise, but of course music is subjective.
Don't see enough people mention Royce though. Dude is honestly one of the greatest and he doesn't get the praise he deserves.
DOOM. Good on you saying the man's name in all caps. I don't care how reddit people think he is, he deserves a top 5. No contest.
Danny Brown is a toss up for me. I believe his greatest tracks are in his normal voice, but he prefers his crazy voice. Not to say it's bad, but I prefer his normal voice. Sounds more real.
Never liked much earl, and he's definitely a reddit star you fucking normie.
7/10 not bad

>he deserves a top 5. No contest.
Yeah I'm not too sure about that. DOOM is good but not THAT great. And his first album was wack to anyone that isn't a DOOM fan. Most of the greats deserve the spot more than him imho.

>Royce
So fucking underrated. He's one of many that was left in Em's shadow, and he's one of the few who matched Eminem on a song. Not just on technical skill, but rhyming like Em rhymes, Bad meets Evil is pure synergy.
What's the "Danny Brown-iest" Danny Brown song?
My pick:

>Battle rap changed drastically
I don't know how to feel about this. It's crazy now with cats like Clips, DNA, Dizaster, and Arsonal, but then you got the gun bars like everyone on modern GrindTime.
my top 5 battlers:
1. Eyedea
2. Dizaster
3. DNA
4. Dumbfoundead
5. Supernat
Supernat is the god at freestyling, but he has a little number of battles that are even physically watchable, most are unrecorded vhs broken shit. However Supernat vs Juice was straight unmatchable by any other freestyle battle.
Also Brother Ali is underrated, so was Eyedea's entire group/affiliation.

I can agree about his first album. It's an acquired taste. But seriously when you look into his lyrics and really devour the mass of wordplay he puts into every track, I can't understand how he wouldn't belong in top 5. Yeah I dont listen to him casually too often, but God damn if he isn't fun to study. And a lot of its not too bad to hear either, I just think a lot of his sound fell into that "not quite timeless" range. You know how some of pac's music sounds great no matter what, but other stuff, while great lyrically, just doesn't work without other pac music to add context? I think it's the same with doom, but due to his lack of messaging or continuous storytelling, theres no way to give context, so it just sounds very... 90s.
bring this shit back to life now that the trip fags like kendrick=booty are gone
