Dark Side of the Moon is objectively one of the lasting gems to come out of prog

It's popular, but compared to the prog masterpieces that preceded it and came out around it, it's spectacularly bland. It really doesn't do anything interesting. The most interesting thing it does is incorporate the plunderphonics side of things, but it's really sloppily executed. Overall, it's actually very mediocre and not outright shit, but mediocrity really bothers me, almost more than really shitty music.

And if you don't believe me about the "same day" thing, listen to John Cale's Paris 1919. Came out the same day.
