The double-disc To Be Kind (Young God, 2014) does not fully redeem the generic mediocrity of Seer but at least scales down the pomp or infuses it with more real deas. Nonetheless, the Swans remain unrecognizable (note for the younger generations: no, your parents were not listening to this "stuff", they were listening to Filth and Cop, much darker "stuff").

Can not get into any Post-revival Swans at all.

Listened to The Seer and TBK and was bored out of my mind with both

Everything they do is put together really well. Everything "fits" from the imagery to the lyrics to the arrangements. I haven't been so impressed with a band in a long time. That said, their music is depressing (if cathartic) and I can only listen to them when I'm at my worst. There's an air of child abuse to everything they do and it's more than just "dark".
