new björk soon

can this music year be saved?

only a new grimes album could save this underwhelming year.
>>
perhaps
>>
nah they are kinda irrelevant now, especially gybe

I'm honestly really excited for new Godspeed. I could give a shit about the political themes the albums about, I just wanna hear it.

Hyped on the new Chelsea Wolfe too.

It can only be saved by Clarence Clarity. I don't care about anything else released this year. It's all fuck frump and white people bullshit which I would be okay it if the music accompanying the message was actually good. CC is pretty obviously a nu-male and may drop these political themes in his album but atleast he has the potential to drop AOTY.

he is one of those nu-male artists that have somewhat interesting style but really mediocre compositions
>>
new gybe can only be good if it has a hrsta-like song including moya vocals. otherwise it could never be worth losing both hrsta and black ox orkestar
>>
>>74304295
he's just mediocre.
>>
we already got Gas. no one needs anything else this year
>>
good on them for not exporting to israel

Personally I wouldn't put my money on it. Not to drag down your optimism though both artists are nearly two decades past their prime and most likely will not take to altering their styles too much given that the financial risk involved with releasing a new album, especially in an age where digital streaming is commonplace is considerably less profitable. This in mind I believe it should be stressed that the current year cannot be "saved" by any artists whose careers have been established over five years ago in large part due to the fact that we are reaching something of a creative bankruptcy where those who are already signed to record labels have less incentive to release anything innovative or overly experimental, whereas unsigned artists who may carry these new ideas and concepts that could be brought onto the table lack the capital and/ or technical experience to do so. Its a shame though ultimately nothing can be done, hopefully in the near future this creative ennui will result in a greater interest in unique production techniques and a more universal means of sharing unsigned artists that could perhaps bring exciting new material to the spotlight - and this isn't to say that many of these established artists haven't released credible material throughout this year; Slowdive's self-titled was a spectacular comeback from a band which has been dormant for over two decades whilst Flotation Toy Warning's "The Machine That Made Us" is nothing short of momentous. Though this being said I honestly cannot list any artists in the past five years who have done anything that is entirely different or groundbreaking (at most there was the Vaporwave scene which was marred by lazy production as well as a memetic culture that took upon artists of said sub-genre as a fashion accessory rather than inspiration, to say the least it paled to say Shibuya-Kei). I don't mean to come off as jaded on the subject, though I wouldn't expect a rejuvenation from either artist.
