I went to a Lettuce show in early june, I think we talked about the band in another thread. shit was awesome !

I know this guy, I bought one of his albums whose title is just "Funk" a long time ago and remember being puzzled when hearing it because it was all blues

Yeah Earl Hooker is some kind of proto-funk guitarist, I'd say he's mostly blues with occasional funk rhythms.
Another of his funkier songs from that album is Two Bugs in a Rug
