I think its not that they hate guitars, it's that guitar and vocals dont "bump" like the Drum and Bass heavy songs of the current year(s), and older guitar music never focused on having a catchy Drum and Bass that they youth can rattle in their trunks, i think if a new metal/rock revival is going to happen in the mainstream it will involve elements like this... Something like industrial but less edgy
