i dunno, are fueled by ramen bands and MCR allowed?
>>74275808
>fueled by ramen, MCR
not really.
Finally an Emo thread
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJZNAosAgSs
I've been meaning to drop this somewhere, I listened to it like 4 days ago and struggled to put it down since.
Incredibly energetic blend of post-rock and emo (with pop-punk lite vocals)
>>74275839
oh ok then, ill leave you to it
Having read Gardner's book gives this song more of an emo feel.

this is great
>>74275962
A more contemporary song, for relevance. Let's keep emo to a single e.

>>74275962
that pic is funny. emo isnt about being a complete faggot trying to be depressive. it's about trying and always failing.
sunny day real estate is always a good choice.

Do any of you still wear the hairstyle? I'd like to say that with age comes refinement, but this isn't always the case.

I have a similar hairstyle still, never straightened my hair though
I've had the same fringe-ish style haircut since 7th grade and I'm currently going into a junior year of college

post-rock screamo from last year

It's literally just a style. At least from my point of view. Every school will have it's cliques, and I was born too recently for "subcultures". The depressive/angry types get the most media attention, and that goes for many alternative groups centered on music/ fashion.

>>74276224
i still have that parted on the side hair style. (late 20s) it just fits me i guess

the style has died off these days. i fear that emo is dying.. for sure.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Io0-AtGFpRU
>>74275466
let's not
i'm not good at leading a thread. my threads always die.
>>74276459
Nah, /mu/ just isn't interested in emo anymore to really have a moderately successful emo thread.
That's why they moved to a discord channel.

i wanted to make an emo thread that isnt shrouded by anime fags. (dem 'emoe' threads)
but i guess you're right.

My favorite band of all time, pure gold where ever you go, they broke up 2 years ago though. I've got a lot more emo bands, more specifically Midwest emo bands
>>74276224
>>74276329
Right on. I straighten and sometimes tease it, none of the drastic hairspray maneuvers from when I was younger. There's still this stigma around dudes who mess with their hair, just like with make up.
I'd tell people to look their age, but that's subjective too. I wouldn't have room to talk.
>>74276351
There was a brief revival in the last 2 -3 years. But these threads tend to have some good recent emo, to the extend the label applies. Pop/ folk/ indie influences are to be expected.

holy fuck i absolutely love marietta
Female vocals along these lines? Doesn't have to be "straight-up" emo, just stylistically similar.

I just noticed the guy in the middle has the feels guy on his shirt.
>>74277184
Like all I fucking ask is that if another revival happens that it brings new bands with the sound of Merchant Ships, Snowing, The Brave Little Abacus with it, the fucking low quality recording and hardcore style. I haven't liked a single band after 2011 or something because they just sound like fucking indie or pop punk which are whack.

That ywn ending gave me the feels, and it was a good music video/song overall. CF is pretty dope.
