24K Magic.
Somebody that I Used to Know is practically adult contemporary. And that's okay, but it's hardly a pure pop song.

it hurts

I like a few of the songs posted in this thread. I have no idea how Gotye got popular. Shut Up Dance was nice to hear on the radio two years ago. It's basically just Jessie's girl, but I like Jessie's Girl and they aren't distractingly similar. The rest of the album was better though. Style was a really good pop song. Only one I liked from her last album.

Get lucky is an annoying piece of shit song with literally nothing interesting about it.
>>74274610
I think you're onto something here, OP.
His shitty hair, pathetic stare, her strong looks, yet helpless attitude - it's pretty much how I perceive that era to be like, or how I perceive people in it to be like.
In many ways, that is how I was. I shared that horrible haircut and that pathetic stare, I shared that idea of being butthurt whenever relationship ended, like I'm equal to a woman in that regard.
In many ways, this song sort of reminds me of what a pussy I was in my teenage years, or how pussy the entire world was. I honestly think society is getting tougher nowadays, tougher and more resilient, more masculine. That's one of the reasons why female pop stars are now trying to be more like Lana Del Rey was back in those days (she got tons of shit for her feminine figure), and why romance and intimacy are gone from the music industry.
Romance and intimacy are domain of weak males, and designed to feed feminine narratives, with them gone, the masculine is set to rule again.
I mean, just compare the two presidents, you'll see I'm right.

>>74282016
Good list, add Starboy and POWER. and it's perfect
>>74282025
>You're retarded for projecting your internal life onto the entire culture
Culture heavily impacts the way you live, and the way you think.
Your problem's not me projecting, your problem's my "wrongthink".
Another problem is you do not recognise simple evolutionary traits of weak males.
It has been well established by evolutionary scientists, such as Richard Dawkins, that literary works are a way for weak males to appeal to females.
Such was the role of storytelling in the ancient times as well. If you look at who the greatest artists of our era are, you'll notice it's all male or female lesbians, people who are designed to produce art as a form of a mating call.
That also applies to popular music, if you look at who the composers and lyricists are.
Any time I see this video I can't help but wonder if her breath smelled terrible
