okay part of it is my disinterest in the "concept" of the new album. they talked about the robot stuff a bit on stage and it wasn't compelling to me in the slightest. then the performance was dull and mainly felt like a "we're just happy to be here" opening for a legendary band. and it's not like I had any expectations going in, it just fell flat for me.

not him but Meeting of the Waters is avey/geo songs with just acoustic guitar/vocals/samples, it has a sorta retro campfire songs sound to it but I think it sounds really fresh. New avey is a sprawling acoustic album with some odd samples and instrumentation (upright bass, steel guitar, etc). I don't like it as much as everyone seems to but it is a very pleasant listen despite being a bit too long (1 hour)
