It's band that's more entertainment than it is music if you can know what I mean by that. I hate to make this comparison but it's sort of like Insane Clown Posse - if you take them seriously you're gonna have a bad time. Listen to their music as an entertaining story and not "music".

I know you're likely trolling Primusfags but I'm gonna go ahead and take the bait and point out that there's so much wrong with this post. Obviously if you're a serious autist and can't handle facetious songwriting you're gonna have a bad time but if you've ever been to a live show you'll know it's 100% about the fucking music with Primus and their long-ass jams. Les barely even banters on stage anymore.

It's not everyone's cup of tea but frankly comparing them to ICP is a bit insulting. Whereas ICP is pure schlocky entertainment, Primus bridge the entertainment and musicianship gap seamlessly.

No, musically they can be extremely valuable. It depends on what emotions you seek out in music. If you're looking for the "beautiful sadness" or "reassuring happiness" that most people crave in music, you will be disappointed. Primus resonates with me in a sort of pathetic, stinky self-loathing kind of way. Songs like Nature Boy and Jilly's on Smack mean a lot to me, personally. (Granted a lot of their songs are very much like a goofy whacky cartoon uncle as opposed to having real emotional value).
