So, uh... Don't know if this will work, but here goes nothing.

>13 year old black male beta
>actually have a good amount of friends
>there's a nerd community
>i join late, as i do with literally everything else
>luckily, nerds (or at least mine) are very accepting
>i play trumpet
>also browse memes
>there's 2 jazz clubs in school: one you audition for, one you dont
>i join the no-audition one halfway through 7th grade (late as always)
>turns out they're all my friends

>turns out im the only trumpet bc my friends are loud and obnoxious
>i say fuck it and join bc im their friend and used to their shit
>year goes great, turns out i can improv pretty damn well
>halfway through i get asked to join the better group as well
>i say fuck it and join bc this shit's fun
>last concert, teacher asks me to solo in lower group
>i say fuck it and accept bc i dont give a shit about these people's opinions
>concert comes
>i play all three bands
>o ya i forgot to mention i joined normal band at the beginning of the year
>i play in the normal band, nothing happens
>next comes lower group
>our lead drummer ditched us
>our backup has to play

>solo song comes
>introvertness kicks in and i suddenly start caring about these people's opinions
>my brain crashes, leaving me to improv on pure musical instinct
