It's a very famous line of drum machine, but how do they work? I've never tried one myself.
I know the 4 x 4 pads are used to finger drum the patterns, but how do you loop? Sequence? Can you program MPC loops in the way you would with an 808, by hitting buttons to turn on/off drum hits for individual instruments? Can you run MIDI notes through them (I assume you can)? Replace the samples?
I'm not the best finger drummer, so if there's no quantizing/sequencing to control the drum hits, it'd be good to know. Maybe the Aira TR-8 is a better choice?

What is a good freeware drum machine to get just for a beginner? Also a big plus is if I can put my music on SoundCloud without having to pay them or some shit.
