why are the drums on this album so fucking boring?
I actually just listened to it yesterday and completely agree. The instrumentation is really good for everything except the drums.

Every instrument on all Arcade Fire albums is terrible, they are seriously child-level musicians. The singing is the worst part. Luckily they are good songwriters
it's chamber pop
Drummer's always held them back. Big part of why they suck as a groove/dance band now.

Drums are overrated
they should serve the song
Who do drummers even exist in this day and age? Computers can do everything better.

I really wish I could understand why people like this album. It's not terrible, but for me, it's not just the drums that are boring. The album puts me to sleep, and not in the good way. To each their own, I guess.
>>74241620
so should every instrument
>>74241624
why do instruments exist
>>74241624
It's cause they have a certain sound

Every reply in this post is SHit.
The real reason is they couldn't find a good drummer, so Regine taught herself to drum shortly before they started recording, so half the tracks basically have an amateur drummer.

Lol, they're anthemic, uplifting, raw and beautiful. Get some taste faggot.
So what's the deal with this record, it sounds like pompous whining for people who consider themselves too classy to listen to Imagine Dragons.

>post-90s Indie rock
>interesting anything
Top kek m8 well played

>indie anything
It has 100% chances of being whiney american garbage
>>74241037
Half the band were teenagers when that was recorded.
>>74242893
it shows
>>74242899
Of course, watch some of their old shows.
You see guys walking around hitting the drum on their head or punching symbols. Their energy made them famous.
>>74242733
this, but unironically. you don't need need complex drumming for these kind of anthems
