I'm all for conspiracy theories but let's get some facts in here to really make it juicy
>producers for "live" bands will use drum machines to give a more static sound to things such as snare hits
>loudness war
>low db/near subliminal sounds in most popular records to fill out mixes, pretty much why most amateur producers don't sound "professional"
>ghost writers everywhere

Nothing spooky, just listen to records more closely at a higher volume and you'll notice this. Look up "secret guitar track smells like spirit" and there's a guitar track that's in there that you've never heard before playing a different part during the chorus

Every single "DIY" or "street level" or "indie" band to have risen to prominence in the past 10-15 years has tight industry connections and/or comes from an extremely wealthy background and is every bit as manufactured and controlled by their label as Katy Perry.

That one kinda underground indie punk band that you're really into and that's become so successful thanks to a relentless touring schedule and good word of mouth? They've had a team of publicists and managers behind them since before their debut was even released.
>>
>>74242380
.. that is... called... :gasp:... overdubbing
duh
>>
Most live sound mixers will set up a mixing desk with nothing plugged into it and call it something like a "DFA controller" so when you perform live they can fiddle about with it every now and then to make it look like their job's important when they're really not doing anything. Also if you ask for more bass in the monitors or the vocals up or whatever most of the time they'll just pretend to turn it up on that to shut you up but without doing anything.

Session musicians are used a lot more frequently than imagined. If a recorded track isn't up to scratch for a song the producer will more often than not just get someone else in to record it (or do it themselves), give them a one-off payment and just credit the band member who was supposed to have recorded it. Half the time the band member doesn't even know it's been re-recorded.

The "Illuminati" is not what you think it is and never was. YouTube videos attached that name to every conspiracy in the book and brainwashed you into thinking there's something going on that isn't actually there. The "symbolism" you see in music videos is as old as dirt, and the only reason it's so prevalent now is to fuck with the people who keep making the rumors.

Keep pretending to impress strangers online. The whole point of that overdub is being so low in the mix it's practically inaudible but you can still "feel it". Stop trying so hard.
>>
I don't know if everyone knows about this but remastered albums are probably one of the biggest scams in the industry.
>>
>>74247304
It's obvious to people who get into making music, but a lot of amateur producers don't realize it. Just because you did doesn't mean most others did.
>>
>>74247547
Fuck off this meme.
>>
>>74244871
Producers fuck with stuff all the time behind the artist's back. Drum replacements are typical. Usually it's because the artist wants to do something retarded and the producer knows better.

Fundamentally the role of a producer is to manipulate stupid or stubborn people into doing what you want them to do.
>>
>>74247273
Miming is basically standard on certain shows. It takes too much time to set everything up and do a sound check. Usually it's totally obvious because they're singing off-mic and it sounds exactly the same as the album.
>>
>>74247580
It's not a meme, ironically most of the time the only remasters worth buying are the ones that keep the sound of the recording as unmodified as possible.
>>
>>74247638
sometimes the sound sucked to begin with though, or sucked on the original CD release or whatever

>>
>>74247722
In general that's probably a good thing.
>>
>>74247689
That happens mostly in TV show presentations because it would be a lot more difficult for the production team to take care of an actual performance of an artist, specially if it isn't a show about music in the first place.
>>

>.. that is... called... :gasp:... overdubbing

Wow, layering is supposed to be some secret stuff, damn
>>
>>74247716
Because they want to be as inoffensive as possible to the masses.
>>
Music isn't even real it doesn't even exist you are just listening to static and hallucinating that you are hearing things but in reality there is no music.
>>
The charts were heavily rigged in the past, and major labels knew how to get a song to a decent level in the charts. This revolved around vaguely knowing what stores the sales stats were taken from (as not all sales were actually added, sales from certain stores were taken as a representation of the country), going to those stores and buying multiple copies of the releases to fuck with the charts. Shopkeepers were also bribed with merchandise, signed records, etc. to rig the charts by scanning releases multiple times to show up as selling two, three, etc. times as much as they actually did. This would have the consequence of charting highly, meaning the songs got more radio and TV play, resulting in more sales over the coming weeks, or building the profile of an artist so later releases will chart without this needing to help it.
>>
>>
>>74246917
it's not like that. the only reason that is used is literally just to beef out a track and make it sound bigger. with only a bass, guitar and drums nirvana would've sounded pretty flat, so some tweaking has to be done, i.e. the low db extra instrumentals.

Apparently God Save the Queen was meant to be at number 1 when it came out but was avoided for fear of causing controversy
>>
>>74248281
Stop, people here don't know anything about production and don't understand why you don't just use the same instrument or vocal track on the same song. It's not just "record this extra part here," it involves recording an entire sub layer of instruments to color the backround and fill in the silent parts.
>>
>>74248360
that's true. sorry about my sub-par explanation, but also if you're gonna complain you at least need to come up with a better explanation than me.

Stuff like this! It makes all the difference in creating a professional mix, and gives your production a lot more life and replayability, as there are things to find if you listen hard enough. Even AC/DC, a band known for being incredibly stripped down, does this.
>>
>>74247689
Assuming you're serious, I'm legitimately surprised that people don't know about this. If you know the music you'd think you'd be able to easily tell that a recording is straight from the album. Another big clue is if certain instruments aren't plugged into anything.

Wow I never thought about that. Seems so obvious but too obvious. Penis symbolism is all too prevalent in modern media so you wouldn't think Kurt was being cryptic about dicks but it makes sense. Holy shit. like the verses are obviously about coming-of-age, puberty, nature themes, but I thought the chorus was about how people sang along to music and never really got it, not a metaphor for breeding and the life cycle.
Makes a lot of sense
original Nevermind title "Sheep", Kurt's obsession with birth and obvious sexual themes throughout a lot of his work, never noticed that one though.

John Lennon died in a car crash in 1966 and was replaced by a lookalike. I mean yeah it's been pretty well known about that. Shit, Top of the Pops back in the day was literally just miming their song. Take a look at some proof here:

And this is literally just the song while the band mimes the whole thing.

And remember that Ashley Simpson fiasco in the early 00's?

I mean shit they do it all the time with the Super Bowl:

because theres a whole sonic spectrum / palate to use; if theres no room to add in the high end and you feel a song needs something, you drop it in the low end where there might be room - this way you can fill - and separate. its about complexity (dubbing layers) and clarity

David Bowie died suddenly in 2014. The final years of Bowie's life are a work of fiction, acted out in part by lookalikes, photoshops, CGI and through straight-out lies where visuals were not needed. Think, have you seen any video footage of Bowie since then that wasn't part of a music video, something that can be easily fabricated? This is also why Bowie made no public appearances at this point of his career. His final work Blackstar was created through sound-a-likes, extremely advanced vocaloid software (cutting edge and only available to the people working with a megastar like Bowie), the occasional early demo recording and some leftovers from The Next Day, built up around the vocal to fit with the album. Do you really believe such a perfect ending to a career could have been created intentionally by Bowie himself?

How is this a secret? It's fairly obvious that this is the case, most people are just happy enough with the status quo that they don't bother to seek out new music. Arguably, places like /mu/ have helped somewhat break this, but I'd say that it's simply replaced the previous comfort zone with a new one (/mu/core)

This isn't really a secret as it's out in the open for everyone to see, it's just that most people don't seem to notice, but, Maroon 5 is just Adam Levine now. There's literally no need for a band as all of their newer music is all electronically produced. It's just a way for Adam Levine to milk the music industry by putting more music out more often without it seeming as if he's saturating the pop music scene. He does plenty of solo work along side Maroon 5 and does several features every year. If there was any use for the band it's just for touring to play the old hits from the early 00s. Then again would it even matter who they threw out there on stage? Could anyone including Maroon 5's die hard fan base even name the lead guitarist or the drummer of the band?

I read CIA documents from the 50's on the way the Soviets used to psychologically crush their prisoners of war into communists.
So I don't think it's far fetched to suggest a connection to marxism there.
Ever since the 60's the soviets exploited the liberalism of the music industry to program people.

No one understands their own nature, let alone the nature of others. (Wow that was euphoric)

Oh and getting back to the content of the thread and "secrets of the industry", I found this in a little tome called "joy of satan". In fact if you are pleb at satan memes I suggest you have a look. It's a funny book because there's so many misinterpretations in it that have now manifested from the book (I think the "church of satan" used this book, or maybe I misread that)

Rumour has it that this song by the wiggles was about Maloch and his consumption of sacrifices.

what a stupid load of crap.

>jay-z did it for the reaction
he only got a reaction because people spoke up about it

>put satanic pentagrams on shirts here and there
>wear a shirt with satanist Aliester Crowley's satanic doctrinal slogan on it
>flaunt satanic hand gestures
>people who actually know what he's doing speak up about it
>goes viral about 3 years later because the internet exists now

some people literally worship the devil

yeah, the only question with Jay-Z is when and how he became corrupted. He came up through the Nuwaubian movement so I don't think he's a straight up plant. His wife is though.

Satanists use it to identify with the devil and with people that are going to hell.

If you think that's stupid, well you're right. They are fools, doesn't have to make good sense. But that's what it is.

31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:

32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:

33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
