Chill as fuck bro. I like Blank Banshee alot.

Love it. It scratched an itch I didn't know I had.

It's all right but I prefer its offshoot, Future Funk.

Future Funk is sick, too

It's good, but nothing great imo. Your pic is definitely low tier, don't know why everyone holds it up as masterpiece.

I'm generally obsessed with Artzie Youtube vids.

It really does speak directly to the weeaboo fantasies which hover in the back of my mind, inspired by my latent chinese-cartoon hobby, and ongoing love of electronic music of all forms. Future Funk really does come correct, scratching just the right nostalgia-itch.
>you will never hold your girl close and run through the Ginza alley during 1983, escaping the explosion just in time and go off to new spergy anime neckbeard adventures
It was inspired, but quickly became boring, like punk.
We need more post-vaporwave.

Was basically the first vaporwave song on this website that got big. Started out as an ironic meme tho until people actually fessed up about
honestly enjoying it
All the crazy genres that spawned in reaction to vaporwave have ended up being more interesting and dynamic than their parent. The vaporwave scene in general was so fucking autistic about maintaining an "orthodox aesthetic" that had only one possible angle: a cynical and ironic retrospection on the naive optimism and shallow consumerism in the early years of the Information Age. They literally forced themselves into becoming a creatively stifled, paint-by-numbers meme, but that faggotry at least proved useful insofar as the virulent artistic backlash that it aroused has led to a secret Renaissance of exciting new electronic music.

>post-vaporwave
I'd suggest checking Nishiki Prestige and Lifecraft Corporation. Their taking a much weirder and more abrasive spin on the sound, it's some good shit.

Most of the shit that Hong Kong Express has been involved with has ended up pretty damn good, Dream Catalogue's evolution has been a constantly accelerating improvement from the moment it started distancing itself from conventional vaporwave and the "ghost tech" stuff he's been promoting on his other label has been decent to great. There's plenty of good hardvapour, mainly because it's not nearly as tightly tethered to any singular identity as vaporwave, so most of the shit on HVCF, for example, doesn't sound even remotely alike. Future-Funk, which other people have mentioned, is refreshing because it throws away all of vaporwave's tiresome satirical pretensions and makes an attempt at something genuinely lively and catchy.
>>74242325
IDK abt hardvapor but vaportrap is fuckin' sweet. Listen to:
Blank Banshee - MEGA
Vaperror - Mana Pool

It's hard to evaluate because there's hardly a clear definition of what the vapor scene is supposed to be. classical vaporwave is mostly meme garbage, but some of the subgenres it spawned are amazing.
actually, everything made by HKE is worth listening to, the man is pretty talented.
>>74240724
When chillwave was invented in 2009 I independently invented vaporwave. I said what if instead of doing the 80s you did like the weird hyperrealism of the 90s to the early 00s with jarring digital sounds, elevator/informercial music etc
I binned it because I thought people are just going to see it as a pretentious spinoff of chillwave but then some tranny actually did the exact thing I was doing and got called genius like wtf
>>74244447
except floral schoppe is still 80s hauntology instead of 90s hyperrealism
>>74244557
Yeah but people listen to it for the album cover which is 90s
The music is just a ripoff of daniel lopatin
>>74240952
>>74240952
>Future Funk
You mean early 80s funk and R&B? I wish some assholes stop relabeling stuff.
>>74244301
>everything made by HKE is worth listening to
HAHAHA
haha
OH WOOOW, opinions discarded
>>74240917
future funk is the most garbage of all the subgenres
>>74240724
alot of it is garbage but there's a couple of good albums. my favorite vaporwave album is i'll try living like this by death's dynamic shroud.wmv

God i love this album.
I really wish ECO VIRTUAL would make another album.
And I also can't wait for the next 2814 release, whenever that may be

did he ever do a physical release of the first album? i already have his 2nd and 3rd album on cd but i can't find his first one anywhere :/
>>74244864
This pretty much. Its easier for normies to digest and flaunt around A E S T H E T I C online
DJ Screw did it better and earlier, listening to vaporwave when there's chopped and screwed is redundant.
>>74240724
Chuck person
Ferraro
Telepath

Anything else and youre wasting your time
This is my 'go to' for reflexion/depression/rainy days. I simply cannot find another ambient album that even comes close to this feeling.
I can get ambient albuns that are joyful, others are simply complemplative and cosmic, others are downright depressing, but this album speaks 'nostalgia' and 'urban loneliness' directly into your mind, through the voice of past lovers.

>>74247034
Just gave it a listen, beautiful
>>74242325
The ironic gabber shit is pretty bad, but there's lots of stuff that falls under the "hardvapour" umbrella that's been pretty good. Malhamat Al Kumbra, PFS, etc. Which is to say the scene is good, the genre not so much
>>74240906
Home is synthwave though
This album became a trap reference for me. It's almost perfect.
NxxxxxS - Fujita Scale is another great one.
It's relaxing af, but I don't see any ESPRIT comment.
I think the music he made is very high vaporwave

So my external hard drive died recently :(
anybody want to link me to their vaporwave favorites?
I'm mostly a fan of alot of this guy's post, like NEW WORLD & Prismcorp Virtual Enterprises & Laserdisc Visions. I'm a *sucker* for that shit that sounds like a 90s video game soundtrack/you're living in one
Also the beat-based stuff like BB1 & MEGA, & >>74245789
