Question for guitarfags.

I have been playing for a solid year now with good progression. I can do chords and riffs with great sound from famous songs.

I want something more challenging such as scales. I was watching a younger lad bust out some sick blues scales on a stratocaster at the music store. Where is a good place to learn scales and how to learn?
