Patrician music is not the same thing as good music, if a certain type of music is patrician it simply means that it is popular with the high class and is unpopular with the middle and the low classes. Joy Division is a pretty well-known band that is popular with middle class listeners, so it is not patrician, but it doesn't mean that it is bad.
